Getting On And Falling Out...

Today at Greenfields it is Darwin day. And in Maple class we learned about 'Getting on and Falling out'.

First we talked about the qualities of a good friend, these are a few of our ideas:

Funny, adventurous, hard to fall out with, understanding, etc..etc..

Secondly we made our own friendship coins. We decorated them and wrote some of the qualities of a good friend on them and if we wanted made our own motto for the coin. Once they are all finished we are going to put them on our school Christmas tree.

Thirdly, we learned how to resolve conflict, we also found out about a thing called 'I-messages'. It's used  instead of arguing and shouting at each other, it's an easier way to say how you feel about something.

'I messaging' layout:

I feel... (the feeling you get)
When you... (the action the other person is doing that is causing the feeling)
Because... (the effect on you, or on the other people/person)

Thank-you for reading... Maybe next time your upset/angry you could use 'I message'! :-)

Our reading corner!

We have new bean bags in our reading corner! We're really pleased with then, they're really comfortable...
Here is what some of our class think:

Ethan W: Awesome!!!
Samuel G: Totally relaxing.. Zzzzzzz...
Elise: Epicly comfortable!

It now means we can relax while we read. We have big plans for our reading corner; we're going to put a big notice-board for book reviews etc.. etc...

What do you think?? Do you have any ideas for our book corner??

Molly's 100 Word Challenge- Week 2

We were just sitting down for dinner when the doorbell rang. It was another trick-or-treater, I gave them their sweets and lumbered back to the dinner table, frustrated. I just couldn't wait any longer, "Mum, whens Ben coming?" I whined.
"Soon.." Mum replied. The doorbell rang again, "It must be him this time!" I rushed to the door exited. "BOO!" yelled Ben.
"Finally, your here!" I exclaimed. We ran into the back yard, tring to avoid all the spiders and cobwebs. I tripped, fell to the clod damp ground. I lay there for a few minutes, listening to a laugh...

Then I realised it was Chuckles the Clown......
